Lorenzo Martelli (b. 1986, Milan) found his practice in studies with Alberto Garutti at Brera Academy, a longstanding involvement with MiCamera on photobooks and photographic culture, and a decade of dialogue with Giovanni Chiaramonte until his passing in 2023.
Beginning at home, photography let him reframe what had framed him and reclaim agency. That need to reframe the familiar has moved beyond the domestic and grounds his practice in the places we live, shared lives, bonds and distances, private echoes, personal dissonance and collective rhythms.
In 2014 he founded Presente Infinito, a cultural association curating exhibitions and publications. His work has appeared at institutions including the ADI Design Museum in Milan and the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. He is now preparing his first monograph, Love Is Here to Stay.
